FAQ

At Tropisuit, we welcome our customers' input. Please read answers to frequently asked questions about Tropisuit full-body swimwear, and contact us if you have a question that's not included below.

1. What makes Tropisuit different from other swimwear brands?

Tropisuit is crafted for women who love the sun and the water but want to stay beautifully covered. Our full body swimsuits are designed to keep up with your adventures, providing UPF 50+ protection and eco-friendly construction. Each suit is handcrafted in California with sustainable fabrics, delivering style and confidence in every stitch.

2. What is UPF, and how is it different from SPF?

UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) is a rating for fabric, measuring how effectively it blocks UV radiation from the sun. Our suits are UPF 50+, meaning they block over 98% of the sun's UV rays. SPF, on the other hand, is a rating for sunscreen. Unlike sunscreen, Tropisuit's UPF protection won’t wear off in the water or require reapplication.

3. What materials are used to make Tropisuit swimwear?

We use a blend of recycled polyester and nylon, combined with a hint of spandex for flexibility. This sustainable material blend is not only eco-friendly but also durable and comfortable, with a soft yet sturdy feel that lets you move freely. It's similar in feel to a rashguard and your typical swimsuit.

4. How much stretch does a Tropisuit have?

Tropisuits are designed with a four-way stretch, giving you complete freedom of movement while maintaining their shape. The fabric adapts to your body, so you can surf, swim, or paddle-board without feeling restricted.

5. Can I wear Tropisuit for high-intensity water sports?

Absolutely! Tropisuits are built for adventure. Whether you go surfing, kite-surfing, or paddle-boarding, our suits stay will in place and move with you. They're designed to withstand active, high-energy water sports without sagging or riding up.

6. How do I care for my Tropisuit swimsuit?

To keep your Tropisuit in top condition, rinse it in cold water after each use, especially after exposure to saltwater or chlorine. Hand wash with mild detergent and lay flat to dry. Avoid machine drying as it can affect the longevity of the fabric’s UPF properties.

7. What sizes do Tropisuits come in?

Tropisuits are available in a range of sizes to fit different body shapes and preferences. We provide a detailed size guide to help you find the best fit. If you have specific sizing questions, feel free to contact us!

8. Will wearing Tropisuit prevent tanning?

Tropisuit’s UPF 50+ fabric is designed to block over 98% of UV rays, preventing tanning, sunburns and UV skin damage. However, if you plan to spend extended time in the sun, always apply sunscreen to exposed areas such as your face, hands and feet. Choose suncreens that are reef safe.

9. Is Tropisuit suitable for warm weather?

Yes! Tropisuits are designed for warm weather, allowing breathability and comfort even in high temperatures. The fabric is lightweight and water-friendly, perfect for sunny days spent by the ocean or pool.

10. Why choose UPF swimwear over traditional sunscreen?

With UPF swimwear, you get all-day protection without needing to use sunscren on your body. Tropisuit’s full-body coverage also reduces the amount of sunscreen needed, making it eco-friendlier by minimizing sunscreen runoff in our oceans.

11. Can I return or exchange my Tropisuit?

We want you to love your Tropisuit! If you're not completely satisfied, we offer hassle-free returns and exchanges within 30 days of purchase, provided the suit is in its original condition with tags attached. Please visit our Refund Policy page for more information.
